Dr. Nelson Chan,
BEng, MBA, PhD, CEng, FIMechE, CTP, CEP
President
Nelson was previously the Vice President of Risk Assessment & Management Asia Pacific at Intertek. He has developed consumer product safety and quality assurance programs highlighting injury prevention for many brand name companies. Nelson was educated in the UK and has worked in many countries including UK, Canada, US, China and Hong Kong SAR. Nelson possesses a doctorate degree in Biomedical Engineering and is a Professional Chartered Engineer (CEng). He was elected as a Fellow Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE) for his contribution in advancing the science of engineering and in engineering education. With his background in the areas of Biomedical Engineering, Injury Prevention, Manufacturing, Laboratory Operations, and an extensive experience in the areas of project management, setup of laboratory, scientific research and social accountability, Nelson has established operations in Asia Pacific and has managed safety, quality assurance and consultation programs in consumer product industry. He also has made extensive contributions to brand name companies to achieve the goal of injury reduction, prevention and social accountability. Nelson also heavily involves in the research and development of new technologies for assessing hazards on consumer products and has published and array of journals worldwide in the area of biomechanics, safety and quality.
Geraldine Cosh, BSc, MSc
VP UK and Europe
Geraldine Cosh has extensive experience in the areas of injury prevention, risk management, and project management, as well as developing various training programmes.
Geraldine has worked with CTSI (Chartered Trading Standards Institute) and OPSS (Office for Product Safety and Standards) training Trading Standards Officers on risk assessment and product safety in addition to working as the Technical Author for PAS 7055 on button and coin batteries, PAS 7100 on corrective action and PAS 7050 on bringing safe products to market.
Geraldine was a product safety expert on the SPEAC (Safe non-food consumer products in the EU and China) project and an expert on the EU CASP (Coordinated Enforcement Activities on Product Safety) activities on the topics of injury data, risk assessment and crisis management.
Geraldine Cosh is the Director of Geraldine Cosh Consulting Ltd. She has a Masters in Science and in 2018 completed the Certificate in Product Safety Management at Saint Louis University (USA).
Richard Wong
VP China
Richard is a veteran with 20 years in the consumer product Quality, Safety and Social Compliance area. Richard has an extensive experience in Supply Chain working previously with Brand name sourcing offices, testing & certification companies and manufacturers in Asia and China. Richard first started as a QC Engineer in a plastic product manufacturer focusing on manufacturing system, ISO9000 and product quality. He moved on to become a Quality Assurance Engineer of a Optical product manufacturer focusing on QA processes, customer compliant and GMP system. After gaining a wealth of knowledge in manufacturing, Richard joined SGS, one of the largest testing, inspection and certification company where he was the head of various departments including, Toy Inspection, E-commerce and Key Account Management. Richard further leveraged his manufacturing and verification experience to lead teams in Walmart Sourcing and Best Buy where he was the head of Internal Audit Services, Supplier Compliance on Social, Quality, Chemical and Product Liability. With such deep knowledge on sourcing and supply chain, Richard last joined Intertek in Key Account Management and Business Development. Richard is multi-lingual in Cantonese, Mandarin and English and is the founder of RTS Limited.
May Tran, BA
VP Vietnam and ASEAN
Maihien (May) has over 17 years of experience in various Supply Chain role of Consumer Products. May was educated in Vietnam and China and has established her career in Risk Management, Quality Assurance, Production and Supply Chain. She has worked in one of the major manufacturers in Vietnam for many years helping to setup, overseeing and managing quality and production. May continued her career moving on to join a multi-national supplier managing their both production and quality before joining one of the largest testing, inspection and certification companies in the world as country manager for the Risk Assessment & Management operations in Vietnam. With her background, May is an expert in Quality Systems such as ISO9000 and ISO17025 and has deep experience and knowledge on products made by plastic, garment, textile, bamboo, rubber, metal materials and etc. She is also an expert in an array of standards including but not limited to ISO8124, EN71, ASTM F963, HACCP and many others. May is also fluent in Social Compliance such as SA8000, BSCI, ICTI and local labour law as well as Sustainability such as Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and Recycled Claim Standard (RCS). May is multi-lingual in English, Cantonese, Mandarin as well as her nature Vietnamese.
